It Is My Parting Gift To Civil Servants.....Mrs Didi Esther Walson Jack.


 As part of her enduring legacies, Mrs  Didi Esther Walson Jack has left a party gift for Nigerian Civil Servants as she retires today on the 27th of August 2026.

The "Parting Gift" as the out going Head Of The Civil Service of the Federation called it, is the commissioning of the Renewed Hope Mass Transit Electric Buses dedicated to Federal Civil Servants nationwide

The buses which was provided by the  Federal Government through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation is dedicated to Federal Civil Servants nationwide and also as an intervention to ease transportation costs and boost productivity in the Public Service.

Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack who described the commissioning as her “parting gift” to the Service as her tenure comes to an end,  noted She that the intervention was a practical demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
According to her. “Transport is far more than moving people. For many civil servants, the daily commute shakes their finances, their safety, their punctuality, and ultimately their productivity.

The outgoing Head of Civil Service who disclosed that the buses were made possible  through the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund. said she could not have asked for a more fitting note on which to  retire from the service than receiving and handing over the keys to something that will keep moving, keep working, long after she have retired.

“An intervention that makes transportation safer, more reliable, and more affordable is therefore not a peripheral welfare gesture. It is an investment in a more productive Civil Service.  Didi Esther Walson Jack stated

Nigeria's  Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Sen. John Owan Enoh, who was also at the commissioning disclosed that  the buses align with Mr. President’s vision of pairing economic reforms with direct welfare relief.
This is as the Minister described the commissioning of the Renewed Hope Mass Transit Electric Buses as about productivity and welfare.

Sen. who  said the government is pursuing a dual-fuel future with CNG and Electric Vehicles as the pathway for Nigeria’s automotive sector, emphasized that, the commissioning of the buses was all focused on translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits that Nigerians can see and experience.

Sen. Enoh who revealed that the Government was supporting factories, creating jobs, developing engineers and technicians, and keeping more economic value within Nigeria, stated that, Nigeria as a Country of more than 200 million people cannot continue to export the economic opportunities created by its domestic demand.

This is as he encouraged Manufacturers to  look inwards by encouraging local production to enable the Country compete favourably with other advanced countries of the world.
He reminded them that this can only be possible if they invest in factories in Nigeria. 

The commissioning ceremony which was held in Abuja on Wednesday, 26 of August 2026, had in attendance, Oluwemimo Osanipin, Director General of NADDC, Comrade Daniel Danjuma, Joint Negotiating Council who spoke on behalf of the Civil Service and other Dignitaries.

The Director General of NADDC, 
Oluwemimo Osanipin,  who disclosed that each bus would accommodate up to 100 passengers, also stated that the electric bus would maintain a range of minimum of 200 kilometers on a full charge as well as 40% lower maintenance cost compared to PMS/AGO vehicles.

This is as he assured Civil Servants that the buses are environmentally and 100% Made in Nigeria.
